Join Nottinghamshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Gary Godden for a Public Safety Social in Rushcliffe, an open, community-led conversation about what helps people feel safe where they live, work and travel.

This event is about listening, explaining and solving things together. It’s an opportunity for residents who care about public safety in the Rushcliffe area to share local insights, hear what’s already happening, and explore what more can be done through partnership.

Public Safety Socials are designed to be relaxed, informal and constructive.

They are not public meetings or complaint forums, but spaces for people who want to contribute thoughtfully to discussions about community safety, neighbourhood issues and prevention.

Whether your interest is antisocial behaviour, neighbourhood policing, youth safety, rural crime, or wider community concerns, your perspective matters.

What to expect:

· A short welcome and context from the Police and Crime Commissioner, Neighbourhood Policing Team, and Rushcliffe Borough Council's Community Safety Team.

· Open conversations over tea and coffee

· Opportunities to raise issues, ask questions and share ideas

· A focus on practical next steps and shared responsibility

Key local partners may also attend where relevant, helping to support problem-solving and follow-up.

Who should attend?

· Residents from across the Rushcliffe area who care about public safety

· People interested in constructive discussion and solutions

· Community-minded individuals who want to be part of positive change

No prior knowledge of policing or public services is needed, just an interest in making Rushcliffe a safer place for everyone.

House keeping - keeping the conversation constructive

To make sure everyone gets the most from the discussion, we ask that:

· We treat each other with respect, even when views differ

· We focus on local issues and practical solutions, not individual complaints

· We give others space to speak and listen openly

· We understand that not every issue can be resolved on the day, but all feedback will be captured and followed up where appropriate

Public Safety Socials work best when they are open, calm and solutions focused.

Thank you for helping create a positive space for everyone.
